An electric plancha works by heating a thermally conductive surface, the iron plate, with one or more resistors. Genuine Spanish plates have a steel plate, either rolled steel, ground steel, or chrome steel.
The electric plancha is very easy to turn on thanks to its switch. The temperature is controlled by a thermostat that regulates the flow of electricity to the heating elements. The plate heats up quickly, between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the plate.
Once the plancha has reached the desired temperature, all you have to do is spray the plate with a thin layer of oil and cook your food...
The electric plancha is in no way inferior to the gas plancha, its corresponding power causes the temperature of the plate to rise rapidly, which favors a healthy and homogeneous cooking of the food.

The main difference between an electric plancha and an electric barbecue is the cooking surface. Electric plancha plates have a flat, smooth surface that allows them to cook any type of food evenly, such as pancakes, eggs, and bacon, while electric barbecues have a ridged surface that leaves marks on food and allows you to cook only certain foods (steaks, sausages, and some vegetables).
Yes, electric planchas can be used indoors, making them a great choice for cooking when outdoor cooking is not possible. They are designed to be safe to use in a kitchen or inside. However, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure that the plancha is used in a well-ventilated area to avoid smoke.
The price of an electric plancha can vary depending on the size, plate type and its characteristics. This table will give you an idea of the prices.
