electric planchas

An indoor electric plancha: it is the choice of simplicity. Plug in your plancha, turn on the switch, and voila! It is ready for use. It's as simple as that! The performance of our electric planchas is similar to that of our gas planchas: same equivalent power, and same technical attributes. The notable difference is that the burners of the gas plancha are replaced by resistors but their longevity and efficiency are similar. In fact, our 20-year warranty on the plate and burners/resistors is valid on both our gas planchas and our electric planchas.

How does an electric plancha work?

An electric plancha works by heating a thermally conductive surface, the iron plate, with one or more resistors. Genuine Spanish plates have a steel plate, either rolled steel, ground steel, or chrome steel.

The electric plancha is very easy to turn on thanks to its switch. The temperature is controlled by a thermostat that regulates the flow of electricity to the heating elements. The plate heats up quickly, between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the plate.

Once the plancha has reached the desired temperature, all you have to do is spray the plate with a thin layer of oil and cook your food...

The electric plancha is in no way inferior to the gas plancha, its corresponding power causes the temperature of the plate to rise rapidly, which favors a healthy and homogeneous cooking of the food.

What are the advantages of an electric plancha over a gas plancha?

Electric cooktops have several advantages over gas cooktops. Here are some of them:

  • Ease of use: Electric planchas are easier to use, as you just plug them in and wait for them to heat up. There is no need to worry about fuel sources.
  • Weight: It is often lighter than a gas plancha, and some models are even designed to move regularly. This is the case of the Dream DP45 with its side handles that make it easy to carry. So you can bring them from the terrace to the living room or store them in your closets after use.
  • Indoor use: They can be used indoors, which is not always the case with gas planchas. This makes them a great choice for cooking when outdoor grilling is not possible.
  • Safety: They are generally considered safer than gas planchas because there is no risk of gas leaks or fires.

How to choose a high-quality electric plancha?

In general, there are a few factors to consider when choosing an electric plancha:

  • Size: Consider the size of the plancha and the space it takes up in the kitchen or on the countertop. Also, consider how much food you want to cook in one sitting.
  • Heat control: Look for a plancha with temperature settings to better control the cooking process.
  • Surface Material: Choose a steel plate as it provides better thermal inertia.

But, of course, the choice of an electric plancha depends on the specific circumstances of its use:
